Videoconferencing Collaboration Sources
This page lists resources for finding and creating videoconferencing collaborations. A collaborative videoconference is different than a content provider videoconference in that the teacher, in consultation with the instructional technology staff, plans the content and agenda of the videoconference. At Hempfield the videoconferencing instructional technology contacts are Sue Allen and Joanne Jones.
Equipment used for a collaborative videoconference can include low-end technology such as Skype or iChat or our higher end technology, the PolyCom units. The teacher is responsible for securing a projector and arranging the furniture in the room for the videoconference. An etiquette session is held before every videoconference and every participating student needs to have a completed permission slip. All videoconferences also have a pre-class activity for the students to complete and a follow-up evaluation after the videoconference.
