Join us as Janeen takes us on a guided journey through the imagination of a childrenÂ’s picture book author and illustrator. Janeen uses a colorful presentation for all the audience to enjoy. With lively tales, she will have us laughing and brainstorming with each other to create a story unique to this event. Janeen will engage us in her process and actually create character sketches, that you will see, based on the participation of the audience.

With upbeat lyrics and award-winning music, Alex and brings children on a wonderful musical journey. This high-energy program will have students up on their feet, dancing and interacting with the music. Topics of social and emotional awareness are explored through song so that students are more comfortable with their own emotions, and are better able to empathize with others by understanding the commonality of human experience. A wonderful, feel-good program that will leave your students feeling more connected to themselves, each other, and the world around them!

Digital Flat Stanley Project (Grades K-3) November 2009-May 2010 Times determined by partnering schools
What happens when a normal boy finds himself flattened by a bulletin board and is sent through the mail to places all across the country? Your students can find out during this fun project, based on the 1964 book written by Jeff Brown! Classes across the country will participate in this project and send their Flat Stanleys around the USA to visit different students. Every journey, one school’s Flat Stanley will visit another partner school. Students will take their new flat friend on different adventures near their school and record the adventures on a wiki page. At the end of each journey, partner schools will meet via videoconference for 30 minutes to greet one another, discuss their hometown and experiences with their flat friends. At the end of the project, Flat Stanley will have visited 4 places and - - and so will your students!

MysteryQuest USA (Grades 5-6) December 18 9:30am - noon
This project is designed for 5 th and 6 th grade students studying USA geography. Through video conference technology, students are able to meet other students while learning about cities and states in the country. Prior to the video conference each classroom will create a presentation with clues about their ONE mystery state and city. The other classrooms, using maps, the Internet, textbooks, and other resources, will try to discover the mystery location presented by each participating classrooms.

This project is designed for 4th and 5th grade students studying Pennsylvania geography and history. Through video conference technology, students are able to meet other students while learning about different parts of the state! Prior to the video conference each classroom will create a presentation with clues about their city or town. The other classrooms, using maps, the Internet, textbooks, and other resources, will try to discover the location of each participating classroom.

Have your students explore American History as they research and portray famous Americans as part of this engaging, interactive videoconference! Each participating class will give three “60 second” presentations about three different famous Americans. Snapshots should include pertinent facts about the famous American - - and the student representing the famous American should be dressed like the person they are portraying. After the presentations, there will be a 5 minute “reflection period” where teachers can facilitate classroom discussion and students can deduce which famous Americans were being portrayed.

Based on the ever-popular MysteryQuest developed by Berrien County RESA in Michigan, this project is designed for 3rd and 4th grade students studying animals. Through video conference technology, students are able to meet other students in from MAGPI member schools while learning about the habitats, habits and structure of various animals. Prior to the video conference each classroom will create a presentation with clues about a mystery animal. The other classrooms, using the Internet, textbooks, prior knowledge and other resources, try to discover the identity of the mystery animal.
