Wild Weather Project
The Wild Weather project is sponsored by Wichita Public School’s Instructional Technology Department. The organizers created and monitored a web site for the project.

The project began with each site posting an introduction to their school on the Wild Weather blog. Each participating school collected weather data for the entire month of April. At LIC, interested students volunteered to collect the weather data using the school weather station found in the library. All the students in Mr. Podgurski and Mrs. Spangler’s class participated in the first videoconference with all of the schools in the project. In the first videoconference, Mark Bogner, the Assistant Chief Meteorologist for KSN television answered student questions about meteorology and severe weather. The LIC student teams created two videos for their final project. The first video described the weather in Pennsylvania and the second video showed how to act in severe weather. Student projects were shared in the second videoconference that featured the following schools: Sousa Elementary - Port Washington, NY
, John J. Daily – Port Washington, NY,
Landisville Intermediate School - Landisville, Pennsylvania,
Price- Harris - Wichita, Kansas, and
Robinson Middle School - Wichita, Kansas. Click on the links below to view the final projects.
