About

The blog Alphabet Soup will focus on my thoughts and findings related to the education programs that I am directly involved in at Hempfield. Many of those programs have acronyms hence the name of the blog. Here is a little bit about me. I am currently in my 18th year teaching in the Hempfield School District and my 20th year in education. Before assuming my current role as Instructional and Technology Coach I was a seventh grade science teacher at LMS and CMS as well as the team leader for the Knights team at LMS, advisor for WLMS, Memory Book advisor and a Hempfield Tech Leader. I continue to serve as the A-V coordinator for LMS and LMS Assistant Science Fair Director. I am a Differentiated Instruction trainer for Hempfield as well. Outside of Hempfield I am serving this year as the Auxillary Awards Coordinator for the North Museum Science and Engineering Fair and as a Girl Scout Cadette Leader.
My educational experience includes dual degrees and certification from Millersville University in Biology and Earth and Space Science conferred in 1988. I have achieved my master’s equivalency certificate and earned a Master’s Degree in Science Education from Lebanon Valley College in 2006. In December of 2008 I completed my Instructional Technology Certificate through Philadelphia University.
