Thank You, Coach Bradley

After more than a quarter century at the helm, head Boys Track and Field Coach and HHS Math Teacher Jeff Bradley is retiring.  Coach Bradley is currently the longest tenured coach in any sport at Hempfield.

As the team heads into the PIAA meet, the team has given their coach a dominating send off.  The team was 8-0 in dual meet competition and won team titles at the Black Knight Invitational and Blue Streak Relays during the regular season.  In the post season, the team won the LL League Championship for the 2nd year in a row.  The following weekend, the team won its first ever District 3 Championship.

Bradley started his career for the Black Knights as an athlete.  A distance specialist, he won the League title in the 2 mile run as a junior (in record time, no less).  He returned as a senior to win the 1 mile League title, again in record time.  A week later, he won the District 3 title in the 2 mile run, in, you guessed it, record time.  He still holds the school record in the 2 mile run.  As a senior, he was named the first Michael Lawrence Siepietowski Memorial Award winner for excelling in the sport.

As a coach, he compiled a career dual meet record of 207-55-3.  His 200th career win came at the expense of Elizabethtown in the first dual meet of this year.  He had a winning record in every season as head coach.  He has coached 6 section championship teams, 3 league champion teams, and 1 district champion team.  Individually, there have been 43 league champions, 12 district champions, 4 PIAA runners up, and 2 PIAA champions.

**2009 PIAA Adendum:  make that 5 PIAA runners up and 3 PIAA champions and a team PIAA Championship!!!!!!!**

Thanks Coach.
