Success Continues on the track

The Girls and Boys Track and Field teams continued in their immensely successful seasons Friday and Saturday at the District 3 Championship meet.

The boys team edged out Wilson to secure the its first ever District 3 team title.  Kevin Hull led the team, winning the 1600 m and 800 m titles.  Hull also helped the 4×400 m relay team (also consisting of Kori Meshaw, Forrest Moul and Hansel Akers) bring home the gold.

Meshaw set a school record in the 300 m intermediate hurdles while taking 2nd.  Akers did the same in the 400 m.  Alec Bleacher took 3rd in the Javelin with a school record performance.  Other point scorers include David Patzer in the pole vault and Steve Feister in the Javelin.

Hull, Meshaw, Moul, Akers, Bleacher and Patzer will all compete in the state championship meet Memorial Day weekend.

On the girls side, the team took a close third place overall, just 6 points out of first place.  Leading the way were champions Ang Rothmiller (200 m) and Korinne Piper (800 m).  Piper avenged an LL League meet 2nd in the 800 to win her gold.
