Hempfield Education Foundation Sponsors Annual Golf Tournament

The Hempfield Educational Foundation held its 8th Annual Golf Tournament at Four Seasons Golf Course on Monday, June 21. Final numbers are not yet available for the fundraiser, but Foundation board members and golf chairperson, Rao Sankarmanchi, are optimistic that this year’s benefit was a record breaker! Sponsorships from local businesses and contributions from the faculties at many of the Hempfield schools supported the efforts of 120 golfers.  Businesses and individuals contributed raffle and door prizes for the day which were distributed at the celebration dinner in the evening after the tournament was over. The Hempfield Educational Foundation would like to thank all of those that made the tournament so successful. The funds raised at the tournament go directly back to the Hempfield schools through special event and mini grants. A small portion of the funds go to the Mark Groner Memorial Scholarship as well. Mark your calendar for the 2011 Tournament on Monday, June 20, 2011!
